-- Woody Creek, Inc.
Client:
Woody Creek is a small technology consulting firm specializing in Internet of Things (IoT) system development and end-to-end solutions. Woody Creek supports a number of enterprise clients who are key-names in the logistics and supply chain sectors.
Challenge:
With a small team and large influx of projects, Woody Creek contracted our services to support a longstanding end-client. This client is a global non-profit focused on creating data standards to help businesses identify, capture, and share information within supply chains. We were tasked by the end-client’s US office with completing multiple data-centered projects to enhance user experience (both internal and external) as part of the client’s innovation program.
Solution:
During the contract, Maddendeavor delivered on three key projects:
Matching Algorithms: We explored applying fuzzy-matching and other algorithms to identify customers using similar products from other governance agencies.
Anomaly Detection: We quantified anomalous data within the client’s database and explored autoencoders to detect these anomalies. We also advised the client on simple business rules that could improve data cleanliness.
User-Entry Predictive Model: We created an Azure-hosted application to assist users in categorizing their products based on inputted information. This application utilized natural language processing (NLP) techniques and bespoke models to predict correct categories. We also explored large language model applications for further enhancements. We also explored leveraging large language models (LLMs) and artificial intelligence (AI) as part of this project.
Impact:
These projects enabled the client to pinpoint critical areas for technology upgrades. In some instances, our findings advised against certain pursuits, saving significant resources. A central theme across the projects was the improvement of data hygiene, which positively affected both internal and external users as well as system maintainers. As a result of this work, the US office of the end-client is now recognized as the technology leader within the organization and has been asked by European offices to assist with similar technology upgrades.
Win:
This series of projects demonstrated the team’s adaptability, flexibility, and broad expertise, establishing Woody Creek as a premier technology vendor for the client. Woody Creek’s role as a trusted advisor has allowed them to expand their product offerings and increase contracts. The firm has been frequently chosen for client-facing consulting projects and has received excellent referrals, bringing new customers into Woody Creek’s sales pipeline.
